Kelsey graduated in 2025 and currently works as a Landscape Architect at a planning consultancy called Pegasus group. Their role in the company is to provide landscape design and planning services that help clients achieve outline planning permission for a variety of developments.

What was your experience of carrying out a work placement?

My year in practice was crucial as it the same company I work for now and allowed me to integrate into the job while still being taught a lot of my knowledge, it then abled me to return at a higher position that most of my colleagues as I already was familiar with the company and style.
 

In what way did your experience at University of Sheffield prepare you for your current career?

It taught me about the importance of the landscape and all my current knowledge as I came into the profession as a complete beginner to landscape.
 

Did you take advantage of any opportunities whilst at the University of Sheffield and how did these enhance your student experience?

I was park of the Landmark society and it helped me to socialise in the context of the profession which is excellent practice for networking in the real world.
 

Tell us more about your experience at the University of Sheffield.

The city is a great place to study, very friendly feeling in all of the buildings and the facilities are second to none.
 

What advice would you give to students interested in pursuing a similar career to you?

Landscape architecture is rising as an industry and is always in need of new people as we face multiple threats in the current economic climate, it’s a guaranteed career path for life.
