Macroeconomics
We are interested in all aspects of modern macroeconomics, from DSGE modelling and applied time series analysis to methodological advancements, with relevance for both policymakers and academic researchers.
About our work
Our research spans most subfields of macroeconomics and in particular:
- Monetary and fiscal policy,
- International macroeconomics,
- Heterogeneity,
- Macro-labour,
- Business cycles,
- Macro-finance.
Our activities
We organise the annual Sheffield Workshop in Macroeconomics, bringing together academics and policymakers each spring to discuss recent advances and foster collaboration.
Throughout the year, we host macroeconomists from academic, policy, and private-sector backgrounds, who visit our School to deliver seminars and guest lectures.
As part of our School’s Ph.D. programme, we train economists, with roughly half of our candidates coming from central banks and governments worldwide.
We are always keen to collaborate with external colleagues and partners on emerging research avenues and pressing policy challenges.
See events from the cluster and across the school.
